Cyro was built to be a mining Reploid in 2178. And for seven
years he served his duty to Humanity faithfully. But in 2185, the
Human in charge of their latest mining operation stormed into the
quarry in a fury, raving about how this filthy machines couldn’t get
a thing right and it was their fault they were behind quota and
risking losing another customer. Cyro confronted his boss on the
subject, explaining that it was the bad weather preventing them
from mining the past couple of days which is why they were
behind quota, not the fault of the Reploids. The Human
responded by going into another furious frenzy, swearing at and
degrading Cyro for even thinking of talking back to a Human and
fired Cyro.
Grudgingly, Cyro left the quarry in Germany and instead chose to
travel by foot and see Europe. As a Reploid he did not need food
or water, so his need for money was for luxurious purposes only.
So travel he did, visiting many famous sites across Europe, and
all along the way he saw arrogance poisoning society. False
ideas such as racial superiority, religion, and birth right causing
the suffering of so many and the well being of so few.
At that point, Cyro had a revelation. After thousands of years,
peaceful means had not eradicated these problems from the
world. Diplomacy, protest, and debate could all be undone with
the proper application of military force, and yet people in the
world kept trying. With the year now being 2204, Cyro looked to
up and coming nations such as the Western Reploid Union. They
achieved such a strong hold on their territory not through political
persuasion, but through military action. They knew what it took to
get something done.
So Cyro acted in turn, joining the W.R.U. in their many battles,
fighting in their wars as a rogue. At first the violence bothered
him, the death, the waste. But as he continued to fight and
continued to kill, he changed. Cyro realized that the lives his
victims had been living was going to end in waste anyway, so by
killing them he preserved the resources they would have
otherwised consumed while continuing to hold back progress.
After the final battle against Wily in the Congo, Cyro leaves the
military, instead moving up to space. He had seen most of
Europe, the Americas, and Africa in his journey’s, whether they
were militaristic or otherwise, and now he wished to see it all from
space.
As luck would have it, he arrived as they were testing the first
Quantum Slipstream Probe, supposedly able to move at speeds
up to 500-times the speed of light. Interested, Cyro went down to
the level of the Space Colony known as Bahn where they’d be
launching the probe to see that there were many tourists there,
including Needleman himself. All eagerly examining the
technology that would take them to the stars. Walking up to a
display model of the exceptionally large propulsion system, Cyro
reached his hand out, which was still damaged from his battling in
Africa since he had opted against a Nanite treatment as of yet.
As he reached for it, a jolt of electrical energy arced between him
and the device, overloading the poorly constructed model, which
as it turns out was simply a less-than fuctional prototype that had
been made earlier. The overloaded destroyed the model,
impaling deep into Cyro’s chest, component’s burning themselves
in.
When Cyro awoke he was exiting a nanite tube, some doctors
around him. They explained what had happened and that his
Reploid body had adapted some of the components from the
drive into him after the explosion. Given the breadth of possibility
in adaptivity that was cornerstone in Reploid design, the doctors
could not predict what, if any, effects this would have on him.
The next few years went by chaotically for Cyro as he uncovered
his new powers. From the drive he had inherited the ability to
bend space/time, or in his case, just time. With minimal control he
could force his body forward and backward in time, with
increasing magnitude, and could even stop time all together. But
his abilities quickly became well-known, and a warrant issued for
his immediate capture.
As Cyro continued to evade various bounty hunters, his opinion
of the world around him and the people in it grew less and less,
himself becoming more and more disgusted with their behavior. It
was during World War III that Cyro came to the decision that
Human and Reploid kind alike were too susceptible to things like
fear that clouded their judgement, and no amount of talk was
going to change that.
There was only one course of action. He would have to rid this
world of all life, and start over, himself as the supreme guiding
ruler of everything. As World War III ended and the Rebellion
began, Cyro immediately affiliated himself with them. The first
step to wiping out the world was by throwing it into anarchy and
chaos.
And through the Rebellion, that’s exactly what he would do, and
through all of the battles it would require he would surpass even
the power of Needleman.
When that day came, nothing would stop him from cleansing the
entire planet.
