Roleplaying
Role playing takes many forms in MMRPG. Sometimes it's just a general role play where your
character gains nothing, and others it's a Story, in which ANYTHING could happen. This page
explains all the different kinds of stories.
Stories
your character does in that time frame. You could do this to tell an extended story, or
simply to flesh out training, learning new ways to fight, getting money, anything you
want. Depending on what your doing, an Extended Story or Activity Write-Up, name
your topic appropriately on the message boards.
Example: Extended Activity: The Rise of GeminiMan --- June 1st - June 7th
ACTIVITY WRITE-UP
This is when you write about your training, technique learning, jobbing, or anything
else you might be doing. When you do this, you gain a bonus day worth of activity
OR one day of Time Credit based on the following chart:
6/10: Every 2,500 words
7/10: Every 2,000 words
8/10: Every 1,500 words
9/19: Every 1,000 words
10/10: Every 500 words
Grades explained later.
EXTENDED STORY
Now you might be wondering what exactly you gain from doing an Extended Story?
Well, when you do these you can very easily get MUCH more out the time spent than
your normal one activity per day regimen, but these require FAR more writing on
your part. For instance, you could get just as much EXP training but also get some
cash while your at it, or a new ability, or a new item, anything! It all depends on your
story quality and how much you could have gotten just doing an activity in the time
taken up by your Extended Story.
In fact, you could write your way to the lead of the Complete Reploid Union! But that,
my fine sir, would require nothing less than a series of novels to explain. But an
Extended Story is still by far the most powerful activity in this game.
So how do we grade these stories? Well, we grade on a scale of 1-10, 4 and less
being a failing grade in which you get NOTHING. Grades are based off of Technical
Writing(Spelling, Grammar) as much as Plot(If your story makes sense, isn't too
far-fetched, flows, and is interesting). As such, part of the system IS subjective and
grades can be given by other players, but only Roleplay Masters will give the final
word.
But that's not all, when determining extra gains on-top of what you asked for in an
Extended Roleplay, or what you would have gotten in an Activity Write-Up, we also
take into mind Word Count which serves the same purpose in both instances:
For every 6,000 words for a grade of 5, 5,000 for a grade of six, 4,000 for a grade of
seven, 3,000 for a grade of eight, 2,000 for a grade of nine, and 1,000 for a grade of
ten, we will give you an extra DAY'S WORTH of gains for FREE. So let's say you did
an Extended Story for 10 days and wrote 8,000 words and got a grade of 9 and got
10 days worth of training AND Zenny. With this system you would get an extra FOUR
DAYS WORTH of EXP AND Zenny.
But what if you went for something more...abstract? Like an item? Well, then those
days would transfer instead to Time Credit.
INTERACTIVE STORY
This is where you partake in a quest-like story that plays out like a "Choose your own
Adventure" book ran by a Roleplay Master! These stories start at player request and
a roleplay master can refuse to start one for any number of reasons, including but
not limited to: having one going already, being too busy with real-life, or just not
prepared to start a player-based Interactive Story.
REGIONAL EVENTS
These are large-scale events that occur in a single region on Earth and are almost
always tied to a Story Arc. These include things like Rebellion attacks on CRU
troops, city invasions, etc. These will not usually have global consequences but
could quickly stack up a shift power between factions.
Players involved will see great benefits at the end.
GLOBAL EVENTS
These events change everything and are usual at the end of a Story Arc and could
last a month or more. It is imperative to get involved in these events.
ALL FORMS OF STORIES ARE DUE ON THEIR END DATE!
